adoptable dogs updates
We have many dogs available for adoption. Some of them have adoption restrictions, such as no cats, no kids, or no other dogs. Some may have special medical needs. Be aware that not all kid friendly dogs are dog friendly. Dogs that are not dog friendly cannot live with other dogs! We also have senior dogs. They make just as good a companion as a younger dogs.
Thank you for your patience as we try to match you with your perfect pet!!
We appreciate every one of you.
Alfie - MI1029
Alfie is an awesome little guy who was quite neglected. He’s around 6 years old, pretty playful, and silly. Alfie gets along with all people, dogs, and cats. We are workong through his fear of going outside. He is getting better every day. We’re told Alfie is Pug/Shih Tzu mix, but the vet says she thinks it’s closer to a Pug/Brussels Griffon mix. Alfie was vaccinated today and had an exam and he did great. Alfie weighs 20 lbs.
Powder - IN844
Powder is a 1 year old, neutered male, Catahoula Terrier mix. He is good with kids and loves car rides. He has a high energy drive, needing a big safe yard to run and play. Ideally, a home with another young dog to play with would really make his dreams come true! He is good with cats and loves walks, toys, and playing outside. Powder is being fostered in Michigan.
Hammy the Goyle - MI1023
Hammy was found as a stray with really strained breathing. She needs someone familiar with bracy breeds. She is a really sweet, 2 year old, French Bulldog. Right now, she is not comfortable being carried around, but she does like to sit on laps. She had palate and cherry eye surgery on June 23. After recovery, her breathing, sleeping, eating, and walks have all greatly improved.
Mango - MI1019
What a gem this 10 year old Boston is. Loving, loyal, curious, and lively, especially when there are new humans to meet or wildlife to think about. She has a prescription diet to avoid pancreatitis. She ‘talks’ when she is excited with little vocalizations but doesn’t bark. She is smart and knows when you’re leaving, wanting very much to go with you…but goes to her kennel easily and waits patiently for your return.
Sophie - IN849
Sophie is a sweet and shy 7 year old Boston. She loves her crate; it is her safe place. Sophie is good with other dogs. She seems to follow them to learn what she should do. She has never lived in a house before, so everything is new to her. She is close to being fully housebroken. She likes people and is interested by shy with new people. She loves to run outside but prefers warm days over cold ones. She walks tentatively on a leash. She is very food motivated in her training! Sophie has made a lot of progress since being rescued to Michigan.

Marley - OH1520
Boston-Beagle mix Marley around 3 years old. She is very active, loves to play ball, and go on walks. She's also a good coach potato, happily sitting on your lap or by your side after her exercise. Marley is good with other dogs and older kids. Marley is a very smart girl and she is becoming the perfect companion with her training. She is fostered in Michigan.
Floyd - IN811
Floyd comes with all the good things about a senior dog. He walks well on leash and leaves the chickens alone. He is a lovely dog and his biggest weakness is getting into the trash. He is 11 and because of his age, he needs to go outside to potty more often. He is crate trained and housebroken. He is with his foster in Michigan.
Daisy - OH1448
Daisy is a wonderful, 3 year old, Pug mix. She just needs to know she is safe and loved, so it may take some time for her to warm up to a new home. She is good with my dogs, she plays with them, but she doesn't know how to chase a ball or play with toys. If you try to play with her she play with toys by herself. She likes to go on walks and laying outside in the sun or on the grass. She is housebroken but does get car sick. She also barks quite a bit but will stop if you tell her no barking. Daisy can be found with her fosters in Michigan.
Poncho - MI979
Poncho is a 6 year old Boston and is the happiest dog in the house. He wants to be your best friend, sit on your lap, cuddle with you in bed, and follow you all over the house. He needs someone who will be patient with his belly band/marking and be able to teach him not to do it. He is an active boy that wants to play with dogs or people. He loves toys and will play tug of war and catch with you.
Stacy - IN910
Stacy loves being with her people and will follow you from room to room just to be near you. This breeder release is a bit overly clingy. She loves to cuddle and have her belly rubbed. Amora - MI1026
Amora is almost a year old and learning about the world. She is almost house broken and LOVES other dogs. She would be great with a confident, playful dog. She needs another dog to show her the world is a friendly place to be. Amora is a complete cuddle bug and loves sitting with her favorite person. She walks well on a lease. She has a lot of energy, so dog toys are important. She is also very smart and learns things quickly. She is a great dog.
Jessie - OH1532
At 1 year old, Jessie is sweet and smart pup. She plays till she passes out. She goes between being inside and out, running the yard, chasing the squirrels, and bird watching. She also loves puddles and will dig for bugs. She is great at figuring out challenges to get what she wants. She can get the whole pack involved. She dislikes car rides, being alone, and boredom. Maggie - OH1564
Maggie is the sweetest girl who instantly loves all people. She wiggles her hind end, jumps, and licks you as soon as she meets you. She will instantly shower you with wet kisses and climb onto your lap as soon as she can. Maggie will stare right into your eyes as you love on her. She even does this very sweet, squinty eyed stare when she's a little sleepy. She is the softest girl, so it's difficult to stop petting her once you start.
Ohio
Ginger - OH1542
Ginger is a smart, sassy, inquisitive, and independent girl who loves to play ball, squeaky toys, sniff walks, and patrolling the backyard perimeter. She also enjoys relaxing with a Nylabone and soaking up sunbeams. Ginger will sit by the door to signal it's time to go potty, or at the food pantry to demand a treat. She is working on responding when called. Also, Ginger injured her patella while playing ball, and she will need to undergo patella surgery. However, Ginger is a strong girl. She never stops being herself silly. Overall, Ginger is a laid-back girl who will do well in any family dynamic. She is loving, loyal, and enjoys snuggling up to her person while burrowed under the covers.
Samantha - IL822
Samantha is a sweetheart that loves attention, she gently places her paw on you to get a pet. She likes her dog bed, tough toys, car rides, and walks. She does not have many teeth but can get squeaker out of toys. We leave her on sun porch during day up to 8 hrs and she does not potty. She will bark if left alone outside, We are rewarding her with treats when quiet, which is helping. She has had trouble with some dogs, so will need to meet any pets that will be living with her. He also just loves finding a sunny spot in your home to sunbathe and nap. His energy is very low. Mac will paw at your hand when you stop petting him. He loves his chest rubbed.
Allie - OH1529
Former puppy mill mama who is still learning about being a part of a family. Allie has separation anxiety but can hang out with other dogs to help once pack order is learned. Emmett - OH1534
Emmett is a high-energy, smart, inquisitive, and stubborn boy. He knows what 'no' means, he just doesn't usually care. He is good at sharing food and toys, but will chew anything on the floor, shoes, treats, toy fluff, or socks (his favorite). He is working on leash training and is generally excited to go on walks. He loves strangers, but will sound ferocious when they are in his house. He quickly warms up and is excited and over dramatic to meet new people that will finally love his as much as he demands.
Hansel - MI988
Hansel is a great lap dog and loves to hang out with foster mom all day long! He is 10 years old and is good with other dogs but not known with cats or other children. Gretel - MI989
Gretel has a big personality! She loves to fetch the tennis ball and she never tires out. She will pick the ball up, drop the ball, dance around, and grunt if she thinks you are ignoring her. She is a lot of fun to watch. She has had one eye removed. With her very limited eyesight, she wears a halo to protect her other eye. She loves chasing that ball so much she can crash into any solid surface, bounce off, and on the hunt again. Sometimes she sounds like a little piglet. Gretel is a bundle of love that steals your heart. She and her brother, Hansel (MI988), live with their fosters in Ohio.
Buddy - OH1458
Buddy is a HAPPY, 7 year old Pug. He adjusted into his foster home and the other pets immediately. He enjoys having people and other dogs around. He has Intervertebral Disc Disease, which requires a little help to get moving in the morning, some medicinal pain management, and a wobble in his gait. Because of his medical condition, he should not be in a home with young children and larger dogs that could jump on his back. Using stairs and jumping on and off furniture is hard for him and should be done with assistance, He loves to be in the middle of everything and would be more than happy watching a movie marathon with you. He still gets around well and enjoys exploring his fenced in yard. When he is relaxed, he sticks his little tongue out. ADORABLE!
Jaxson - IN912
I’m six years old and the sweetest, silliest boy. I don’t have a mean bone in my body. When you look at me, I smile by putting my ears back and wiggling or hunkering down just a bit. Every time! I have a moderate to low energy level at this point in time but I’m also needing many naps after exploring this new world I’m just learning about that includes a house and a yard.
Illinois
Florinda - IL832
Hi! I came into rescue with the name Florinda. My mom likes to call me Lil Bit, Ms. Sassy Pants and occasionally a little booger. I haven't figure out why she calls me that yet. It just happens to be when I have jumped into her chair when she leaves a bowl with a spoon in it. What? I am just curious what was in it and if it tasted good because it smelled really good to me. I like to hop around especially in the backyard chasing my foster siblings.
